Good or Bad, It Will Pass — Gold Persian Calligraphy Canvas

Good or Bad, It Will Pass is designed for viewers who want Persian art to feel both rooted and current. The use of flowing Persian calligraphy creates a layered composition that can be appreciated from across the room and discovered again at close range.

Poetry and Meaning

Good or Bad, It Will Pass carries a popular Persian verse on impermanence: in the end, the beauty of you and me will become dust; good and bad both pass — today the lot is drawn in my name, and tomorrow in someone else's. The lines are often attributed to Ibn Yamin, though they do not appear in his collected poems. The calligraphy itself carries the rhythm of the words.

عاقبت خاک شود حسن جمال من و تو
خوب و بد می‌گذرد وای به حال من و تو
قرعه امروز به نام من و فردا دگری

English translation:
In the end, the beauty of you and me will turn to dust;
good and bad will pass — alas for you and me.
Today the lot falls to me, tomorrow to another.

Designed for Meaningful Spaces

Good or Bad, It Will Pass is well suited to an entryway, reading corner, office, bedroom, or focused feature wall. Its gold palette works with neutral, warm, and carefully layered interiors, and its cultural focus makes it a thoughtful gift for a wedding, housewarming, Nowruz, birthday, or anyone connected to Persian art.
