Grief's Time Shall Not Remain — Hafez Azadi Freedom Canvas

Created as meaningful Persian wall art, Grief's Time Shall Not Remain brings flowing Persian calligraphy into a modern setting. Its balanced contemporary palette gives the artwork enough presence to anchor a room while leaving space for the poetry, symbolism, and personal associations to remain central.

Poetry and Meaning

Grief's Time Shall Not Remain quotes the opening of Hafez's Ghazal 179 — the good news has come that the days of sorrow will not last; just as things did not stay the way they were, they will not stay the way they are now. For many Iranians it is a line of hope for the homeland. The calligraphy itself carries the rhythm of the words.

رسید مژده که ایامِ غم نخواهد ماند
چنان نماند چنین نیز هم نخواهد ماند

English translation:
Good news has come: the days of grief will not remain;
as that did not last, this too will not last. — Hafez, Ghazal 179

Designed for Meaningful Spaces
