Hich Magoo — Rumi Whirling Dancers Calligraphy Canvas

In Hich Magoo, Persian visual culture is interpreted through a graceful sense of movement together with flowing Persian calligraphy. The composition balances balanced contemporary palette, texture, and negative space to create a contemporary canvas with a clear focal point and a lasting emotional presence.

Poetry and Meaning

Hich Magoo (“say nothing”) quotes Rumi's ghazal 2219, with its refrain hich magu: I am the servant of the moon, so speak to me of nothing but the moon, of candle and sugar. Speak not of pain, only of treasure — and if you know nothing of it, say nothing at all. The dancing figure turns the words into movement.

من غلام قمرم غیر قمر هیچ مگو
پیش من جز سخن شمع و شکر هیچ مگو
سخن رنج مگو جز سخن گنج مگو

English translation:
I am the servant of the moon — speak of nothing but the moon;
before me, speak of nothing but candle and sugar.
Speak not of pain — speak only of treasure;
and if you know nothing of this, do not trouble yourself — say nothing. — Rumi, Divan-e Shams, Ghazal 2219

Designed for Meaningful Spaces

Hich Magoo is well suited to a living area, studio, workspace, hallway, or quiet reflection space. Its balanced contemporary palette works with contemporary rooms as well as spaces with traditional Persian accents, and its cultural focus makes it a thoughtful gift for a wedding, housewarming, Nowruz, birthday, or anyone connected to Persian art.
