Hich — Monochrome Persian Dancer Calligraphy Canvas

Hich turns the Persian idea of letting go into contemporary Persian wall art. Through a graceful sense of movement together with flowing Persian calligraphy, the piece creates visual movement while preserving the cultural character at the center of the design.

Poetry and Meaning

Hich carries a well-loved Persian quatrain on hich — “nothing.” The world and everything in it pass away, the verse says, so there is no sense in twisting yourself in knots over them; in its traditional final line, the quatrain answers its own question: what remains after a lifetime is love and kindness. The verse is popularly attributed to Rumi, though it does not appear in his collected works. The dancing figure turns the words into movement.

English translation:
The world is nothing, and all its people nothing;
O nothing, do not tangle yourself in nothing, for nothing.

Designed for Meaningful Spaces

Hich is well suited to a home, office, hospitality setting, creative studio, or meaningful gift display. Its monochrome palette works with calm interiors that benefit from a culturally meaningful focal point, and its cultural focus makes it a thoughtful gift for a wedding, housewarming, Nowruz, birthday, or anyone connected to Persian art.
